So this week has been so busy, I almost forgot to eat! I was hired by LL Bean to work for them (as a model) and flew into Maine twice this week. The flight was super fast (46 minutes) but only if there are no delays or cancellations. My flight was canceled the 1st time I was supposed to go, so I had to go the next day. The first trip to Maine was a brief one (just for the day) but my flight was delayed a couple hours, so I grabbed lunch at the airport. I had a plain salad and tried some Capt’n Eli’s Blueberry soda (or as they would say on the northeast coast, pop). It was soo yummy and tasted very blueberry’y.
On my second trip to Maine, I stayed overnight at the Hilton. Unfortunately by the time my flight got in (10 pm), all restaurants were closed (this made me miss NY because nothing closes at 10 in NY). The kitchen at the hotel closed at 9 as well (I just thought it was funny that the LL Bean store was still opened because they NEVER close (not even on Christmas)). The hotel did have a freezer of frozen food, so I had a crappy panini and soup. The last day was a short day (I was at LL Bean’s headquarters for 2.5 hours) and went straight to the airport. I was starving because I barely had breakfast (a couple pieces of fruit and half a cup of apple juice), so I grabbed a quick lunch before my flight. I stopped in at Shipyard Pub & Cafe because it was right by my gate. I wanted to have an authentic Maine lobster but they didn’t serve whole lobster, so I just settled for a lobster roll. The waitress convinced me to add extra lobster meat for an extra $5. Boy, it sure was a huge heaping pile of lobster (this thing was bigger than my hands!) . The lobster roll tasted so savory and moist. It cost $23 (because of the extra meat and taxes) but it was worth it!
